“Old” Bradford High School to welcome children once again

Bradford West Gwillimbury, ON (October 16, 2019) – The Town of Bradford West
Gwillimbury has entered into an agreement for the conditional sale of the old Bradford High School property to Eh to Zed Preschool Canada Ltd. Preschool Canada, through its “Eh to Zed” franchisees, operates early learning centres across southern Ontario. They offer all-day daycare and educational programming for children from infants to preschoolers, including specialized services such as speech
pathology and autism support.

The Town purchased the vacant property at 27 Queen Street from the Simcoe County District School Board in 2016 to ensure the important heritage building would continue to be enjoyed by many more generations. “We’re excited to become the new stewards of this historic building and offer our educational programs and services to the growing Bradford community,” said CEO Shadi Almashni, owner of the Bradford “Queen of Queen Street” Campus of Preschool Canada.

Mayor Rob Keffer stated: “As more families choose to make BWG their home, daycare and early childhood education are in tremendous demand, so we are very pleased to welcome Preschool Canada to our community. “We are fortunate to have found a partner in Mr. Almashni who appreciates the importance of this building to our community and wants to continue with its educational focus,” added Mayor Keffer.

The building at 27 Queen Street, which was built in 1923, is designated for protection under the Ontario Heritage Act, so any changes to the building’s façade are subject to Town of BWG Council approval.
